God’s Ultimate Vision for Our Lives

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

~2 Timothy 4:7 (NIV).

God has chosen to reserve judgment until the very end of our lives. For God, the jury’s still very much out. No condemnation sticks to us. God is uniquely interested in what is being fashioned within us right up until that final day, our last breath.

And this is such wonderful news!

Whatever our challenges, and however we feel we’re failing in life, these are inconsequential. God doesn’t regard any of it against us, because he knows our hearts for trying. It’s the heart that counts.

The ultimate vision that God has for each of us is as a completed work, this via our subsumption into heaven at death. The Lord has us ready for this at different times, and this is our goal—ours to attain—as the Apostle Paul testifies above. Readiness is our only aim.

Still, God’s not finished with any of us yet.
