Do You See What I See?

“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

~Luke 10:23b-24 (NIV).

“These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.”

~Hebrews 11:39 (NIV).

How is it to live this side of the Promise? There are many, many saints in faith’s hall of fame (Hebrews 11) who perhaps more than deserved to see Jesus; to experience the post-resurrection Holy Spirit. But they did not.

This is a necessarily punchy and poignant message.

It needn’t be long at all.

We live on the good side of the Promise. What the prophets of old talked about has now—in Jesus—been realised.

It begs us now to just take a fuller glimpse of that; the reality, in our moments... right now.

Do you see what I see? Do I see what you see?

We’re saved if we know and confess Jesus; and we’re being saved this very moment in our living, breathing faith in him who contended and won us, finally to himself and to the Father. In these, we have the Holy Spirit; the bond of God that makes the Deity alive to us.

Do we feel this living God in us, today?
