Science meets faith and things get hot! It just so happens that a lot of people with science-based PhD’s have joined ranks and are now collectively fighting for truth and the challenging of silly worldviews that have now prevailed since basically the dawn of time, and certainly contemporarily since Darwinism—worldviews we’ve been indoctrinated with from our school days.
Science, we know, is based on observable and repeatable experiments. If something can’t be definitively observed or experienced and reliably repeated, it is not scientifically backed, empirically. Empirical evidence is the stuff of science; it’s very plainly, fact. Eat enough fatty foods regularly enough and we become fat: observable, repeatable... scientific fact. Science only ever works perfectly in the present.
The trouble with the history of the world is it’s tainted by some pretty implausible math, based in historical i.e. less than reliable evidence. There are scientists and scholars now brave enough to distance science from the errant belief systems and the ‘sponsored programs’ that might drive their conclusions. Sufficient doubt exists over many things previously taken as fact, for instance, the reliability of carbon dating using the radioactive isotope carbon-14 (14C).
But the trouble with our world is when we’re shown sufficient evidence that previously held fact is doubtful, everyone wants to plunge their heads into the sand. It all gets too hard! Certain fruits have plenty of vitamin C one day, but cause heart disease the next—who knows what to eat?; or so is the prevailing conundrum.
Fortunately, there are some things that never change. From right at the beginning, God made something that was ‘exceedingly good/beautiful,’ even perfect. This earth, though it has changed significantly since the dawn of time due to ‘the Fall,’ is still an amazing place. And there is a plethora of historical and mathematical evidence to suggest the starry night we gaze in awe at is the very same starry night that Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus gazed upon.
Our biggest challenge is to stay awake and open, and be prepared to challenge our firmest assumptions.
